📖 Story behind:

shakuloot [shakuhachi + western flute]

I had an idea to record this unique instrument since years, after using it in the John Cage Ryoanji Project, which we have played with my colleagues from Berlin Philharmonic orchestra in Baden-Baden back in march 2018.

The headjoint itself is a part of traditional Japanese flute made of bamboo with longhorn compound inserted into handmade silver flute from Brennen-Cooper, which I use at work in the orchestra.
